30DMC 5: Favourite drama movie

Again, another difficult choice - there are a huge amount of exceptional drama movies out there; The Usual Suspects has to be my fave though.

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist," says con man Kint (Kevin Spacey), drawing a comparison to the most enigmatic criminal of all time, Keyser Soze. Kint attempts to convince the feds that the mythic crime lord not only exists, but is also responsible for drawing Kint and his four partners into a multi-million dollar heist that ended with an explosion in San Pedro Harbor - leaving few survivors." #Google

I can still remember the very first time I watched this. I watched it with my brother & from the offset I was hooked and second guessing who the killer was all the time. He had a lot of patience with me!! Never saw the twist coming which made it so amazing.  Although I don't still watch this with the innocence of not knowing the ending, I still love his film!

30DMC 4: Favourite horror/suspense movie

Not my favourite genre by any means - horror films really scare me these days and I don't need anymore encouragemnet for my already overactive imaginations.

Saw is a great film. It was ruined by having so many sequels but that also told a story. Very well thought out plot lines, a very intelligent plot line and really makes you think - how far would you go to stay alive?

30DMC 3: Favourite action/adventure movie

I do enjoy a good action movie so choosing  my favourite is a tough one.

I think I'll go with a film I always go back to when I want to see some action: Con Air.

"Just-paroled army ranger Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage) is headed back to his wife (Monica Potter), but must fly home aboard a prison transport flight dubbed "Jailbird" with some of the worst criminals living. Along with Diamond Dog (Ving Rhames) and Baby-O (Mykelti Williamson), genius serial killer Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom (John Malkovich) unleashes a violent escape plot in mid-flight. Secretly working with U.S. Marshall Vince Larkin (John Cusack), Poe tries to foil Grissom's plan." #Google

John Malkovich plays an excellent part alongside Nicolas Cage. I love the storyline, the action,  all the different characters...great film!

30DMC 2: Favourite fantasy movie

Define fantasy genre:

"Fantasy films are films that belong to the fantasy genre with fantastic themes, usually involving magic, supernatural events, mythology, folklore, or exotic fantasy worlds." #Wikepedia

Ah - easy! Harry Potter - I absolutely love this fantasy world; I would simply love to go to Hogwarts & teach potions!  I first got into the franchise to try & see my Uncle Bill in Harry Potter & The Philosophers Stone; he drives The Hogwarts Express in the films! I saw this at the cinema with my parents & was hooked! It soon became a family tradition to watch the film together & we have since been to WB Harry Potter studios in London together. A must for any HP fan.....still saving up for the Florida trip!

I have all the books & read them loads (this includes Tales of Beadle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts & Quidditch Through the Ages). Not forgetting HP and the Cursed Child script!! Love it!

I listen to the Audible HP books (narrated by Stephen Fry) in the car.

I am a Slytherin - Pottermore official! My Ilvermorny House is Horned Serpent.

I have been to Alnwick Castle & Godrics Hollow.

My brother is a muggle!

30DMC 1: Movie I last watched

Southpaw....and it took me on a roller coaster of emotion which I really wasn't expecting!

My initial thoughts were that this was going to be about a left-handed boxer (Jake Gyllenhal) who worked his way up through the ranks to be top dog by the end of the film....I was wrong! Totally wrong!  Southpaw is actually a stance:

"Southpaw is a boxing term that designates the stance where the boxer has his right hand and right foot forward, leading with right jabs, and following with a left cross right hook. Southpaw is the normal stance for a left-handed boxer."

So I was kinda right? Anyways, for me the film started slow & I didn't think I would enjoy it...but then something happened (no spoilers here), and all of a sudden it got really interesting and emotional.  I was gripped!

Definitely worth a watch, but have some tissues handy!
